Had 2 trips going out Wednesday.
First up , the Johnny Holzer Charter from Allentown P.A. shoved off in a light east wind and we decided to hit Romer one last time this year on the beginning of the outgoing....Nada....Made a move to our spot which had been producing and had life right away and thought we were in business right away with a bass on....turned out to be short...had alot of life with Blackfish to 8lbs and nice big 3-4lb porgies. We had a run off from a fish we just couldnt turn around...65lb braid and 40lb leader and we couldnt stop that freight train...im thinking a BLACK DRUM came on by and was a little hungry.
2nd trip went out at 1:30 in fishable conditions on the incoming tide. Tide was Flying when we got there. Had some life but of course the wrong kind. Chunked and clammed heavy but the current was really strong. When the current slowed and started to turn, we again chunked and cracked heavy and Maura Pogirski was rewarded with a nice
32in Striper. Had a couple more run offs that they couldnt connect with...then the weather got really shi*#y and had to call the trip a little early.
