Sandy Hook?

Alright, I just woke up... and I'm thinking to myself, I should just wake my GF up and say lets go to sandy hook, I'll fish off the surf and you can lay in the sun... I dont even know if its supposed to be warm or sunny out there, thats how much of a rush job this is. Where should I go on sandy hook, where there may be some people on the beach, and I'm allowed to fish. No nude beach, and I do not feel like making that long tread at the tip of the hook walk.
