Sea Hawk Fluke Report 6/17
« on: June 17, 2010, 04:42:17 PM »
Had tough conditions today, but still picked away at the fluke. Some short fluke, some keepers, and some bluefish made up today's catch.

Had another large fluke that was extra long at 26" but only pushed the scale down to 5lbs. When netting it, it looked massive and was hoping it would be another large fish. It had the length, just no meat. Looked healthy, just very thin. Was good enough for Fred to take the pool with though. Good job again Freddie!

High hook had 3 keepers, quite a few with 2, and others none to one.

Overall a decent pick and if conditions were more favorable, it would have been much better. Still a fairly good day overall.

Thank you for all the compliments and support slt

Slow start tonight for our small charter with the wind still blowing hard. Fished where we could to get out of the rough seas and could only pick away at short fluke.

Had a break in the wind and was able to head over to where we caught them this morning and managed a better pick of fish with 11 keepers coming over the rail. Biggest fluke of the night went 4 lbs.

Chartered both trips tomorrow and Saturday morning.

Sailing open boat Saturday at 3:30PM and both the 7:30am and 3:30PM trips on Sunday.
