Fish Monger Thur 6/17 Stripers/ Seabass
« on: June 18, 2010, 12:33:51 AM »
Had Peter Sivo's Charter aboard the Fish Monger for day 1 Of their 2 days of fishing. Jim, Pat aka Cheech down from Pa, Charlie in from Aviston ,Il and Al Up from Jacksonville, Fl rounded out the 5 Man crew.

Headed out for another day on the striper grounds... back to the same area and the bait was there the same way but the Bites from the Stripers were Not.

The Guys worked hard and we managed 3 Nice fish up to 34lbs, missed a few bites and a few blue biteoffs... Bounced around a bunch of bunker pods and reads but we didnt see any more...got a call of a few bites to the south with not much going on and a big crowd of boats developing we decided to take the ride.

Got on scene the bait and bass were there but they were basically in the last wave in the surf... A surf fishermans dream for plugin or drop n snag but with the hard west breeze you only had a quick shot at them before you slid to far off shore.

We did manage to catch 3 More stripers and miss a couple so the move was worth it.

When that died we finished off the day with a seabass drop. tough with all the wind but the guys managed just under 2 dozen seabass for dinner. They also released a few nice Blackfish.

By days end the 5 Man crew landed 6 Stripers to 34lbs and 22 Keeper Seabass. They also threw back a few nice Blackfish.

Peter and crew were a blast to have on board!!!looking forward to doing it all over again tomorrow(Fri) with them.

Thanks again Guys
