Back Out For another day of bottom fishing with Ed McGinnis Charter. Wife Cheryl and Sons Conner and Brock. Party of 4 aboard today to enjoy some family time for Fathers day.
Plan was to mix up the day with some seabass and a little fluking to end the day.
Got on scene and we picked some nice keepers off our first spots including a few double headers and Big Blackfish.
Our next spot the screen lit up knew we gonna crush um before the baits even hit the bottom... All 4 rods down and immediately hooked up with double headers with some of the best avg size fish we seen inshore this year. Fish in the 2- 3.5lb class and almost every keeper was least 14-16 in with almost no shorts at all. Slugged away at em... doubles nice fish etc.
Brocks rod bent over and when he was done with a good Battle it turned out to be double header 5 and 6 lb blackfish... Mom Landed a Beauty double header big seabass and keeper Cod.
Put 90 Keepers in the Boat and most of the time we only had a couple of rods fishing at a time. This was all just power drifting a few small pieces... didnt even drop the hook.
Decided to go do a little fluking to end the day... but the south wind made the drift too fast to drift in the deep where we wanted... Settled for some action with shorts on the beach to get the feel of some fluke before heading in.
By days end the family of 4 boxed up 90 Nice Seabass with lots of fish in the 2-3.5lb range. Most of the "smaller Keepers" were in the 14-16 in range Also had a Couple Ling and 1 Keeper Cod. Threw back a bunch of nice blackfish in the 4-6lb range along with some short cod and fluke.
Fun Fathers day on the water!!!
