Headed out with Mike Yablonsky's Charter today. Sons Mike and Andrew. Mitch Scott Kearny and Big Don rounded out todays crew.
Plan was to look for some bass real quick in bunker pods then to the Seabass Grounds.
Got to spring lake and huge pods of bunker... had a few runoffs our first drift but lost a few... But every drift we had some Bites... wound up going 4 for 12 on stripers in the 30 lb class. Then the crowd became unbearable... boxed in so tight i couldnt even move the boat at times... screaming yelling outboard motors giving big runoffs... Got out of there happy to land a few and survive!!!
Got to the seabass grounds and power drifted a few of my fav rock piles and wrecks... Pretty much drop and reel action with quality seabass. Most keepers were well over keeper size including some nice Knuckle heads, Few Ling , some cod and some good size Blackfish we released.
Put 100 Keepers in the boat and then it slowed up a bit and the south wind came on.
Made a move to a old wreck and it was absolutely loaded. Insane action with double headers as soon as you came tight again nice size keepers... Dropped my rod for a laugh and was getting seabass as high as 10 ft off the bottom!!! Few Nice size Blackfish here as well that were released
Didnt take long very long... the guys finished off there limit... left them snappin for another day!!!
By days end the guys Boxed up 150 Nice Seabass (A 6 man Limit), 5 Ling, and 1 Keeper Cod along with 4 Nice Stripers in the 30 lb class!!! Also released a bunch Blackfish and few small Cod.
Fun Day with a great Crew!!! Scott managed to lose a Reel off his rod and then dropped his rod overboard... Managed to get both back which made the day even better!!!
Another super day of seabassing!!!
Thanks Again Guys!!!
