Met Mike at 6:30 am at Wagners in Keyport.
We pushed off at 6:45 am.
1st stop was GK for Live Bunkies.
Once the well was filled we went over to a spot in the reach channel and caught short Fluke.
Slow drift but lots of action.
We worked a few different spots and we continued catching Short Fluke.
Mike said Art let's move and see if we can catch some keepers.
Once we moved the action we were having at the other spot stopped.We continued drifting and I was rewarded with my 1st keeper.
After that keeper we never caught another Fluke.
At 2 pm I said to Mike let's go back in.
As we were going back to Keyport off of the Keansburg Pier Mike spotted some big swirls in the water.He turned the Funky Munky around & I start seeing what he was seeing.There had to be hundreds a Big fish finning on top.Mike started snagging and snagged a Monster Bluefish.Once we knew what was finning we started casting Poppers and the Bluefish were crazy.There was 1 other boat on these body of fish & that was it.I tried live linning Bunker but there were no Bass to be had.
At 3 pm we called it a day.
Not a bad way to spend a Friday.
