wheather report accuracy ??
« on: July 10, 2010, 10:19:56 PM »
Would like to make a trip to sandy hoook with my 23' cc on Sun. 7/11. Wheather says craft advisory with 5 to 10knot winds. Same was forcasted for today and my buddy was down on the beach saying water was calm. I'm comin from Pa and don't want to waste a trip.

Was anyone out in Raritan or down the beach that can confirm what the water conditions were today??

i've learned to check the water myself instead of listening to the weather service. Since u r in PA there are websites you can go to that will give u live pix of the water.

Thats always a difficult call to make. Since the weather can change quickly, and the location you are planning to travel and then fish are also in the mix.
Many times NOAA has been off the mark and often times the prediction has been accurate   :headscra: :headscra:
Your best judgment is your own ability, skills and knowledge of the area.
Safety FIRST.

Decided to give it a go and had a great time. Can you give the website for the webcam? Thanx.
