My godfather finally got his Coast Guard certification, so it was time for him to captain the old V20 and for me to sit back and relax for once haha. Motored out of Keyport at 8:30 and headed out around the hook and about 3 miles offshore. Some serious swells out there had me nervous with him at the helm, but he managed ok. Finally hit our spot and picked a Sea Robin with my first drop. Unfortunately that would be the last action we'd see.
We picked up and tried the crowd around Flynn's, no luck. Was a real nice boat sitting about 20 yards inshore on the beach though
Moved on to the 11a and tried a few drifts...nothing. To the hole....nothing. The round shoal.....nothing. The Keyports flats....NADA!!!
We burned alot of gas for no fish, but Jack got some good experience at the helm on a beautiful day!
