Fish Monger River Fluking 7/15
« on: July 15, 2010, 06:52:57 PM »
Was getting ready to head out for another day on the fluke grounds... that is until the weather man changed the forecast while we were sleeping. Went from 10 Knts and 2-4 to 15 - 20 ne 4-5 and small craft on the updated forecast.

Took a look at the ocean and decided that it wouldnt be productive conditions for fluking esp with the finicky bite of late. Talked it over with the guys and we opted to fish the river for a half day.

Crew on board today was Ryan Scuba nut, Shelly, Nicky Andrew and Vinny sportfishusa

River pretty much paved with fluke from the canal to inlet... although most were shorts we had a ton of fish on an otherwise crummy ocean day.

Lots of shorts were in the in the 16 - 17 3/4... A nice size fish that hurts to throwback.

Had loads and loads of action and managed to box up 5 Nice keepers for the dinner table!!!

Our best action was closer to the inlet on jigs tipped with spearing.

By 12 noon the guys easily caught over 100+ Fluke with 5 going into the box and a keeper blue claw

Made the best of a tough weather day and sure beat sending everyone home without fishing!!!

Fun Morning!!!

Thanks Again Guys!!!

Give a man a fish, and he can eat for a day. But teach a man how to fish, and he'll be dead of mercury poisoning inside of three years.
