Fattys & Flattys Fri July 23 & Sat July 24th reports
« on: July 25, 2010, 09:40:47 AM »
4:45 am Fri morning I met Kevin Cole at KMB.

We Loaded all our gear for 2 days of Fluke fishing. And we pushed off at 5 am so we could make it under the bridge.

As soon as we got on the other side of the bridge Kevin netted some peanuts.

Once we had enough peanuts off we went.

Kevin took me to the same spot he fished on Thurs and we slowly drifted. It was hot and there was no wind.Kevin & myself both knew we needed some wind and about 1 hr later the wind started picking up and we had better drifting conditions.

Once we had movement the Fluke starting chewing.

At 2 pm between the 2 of us we had 9 Keepers and we released many shorts.

The ticket today was Gulp 6" Grubs.

At 2 pm we packed it up and made the long bumpy ride down south to Hoffman's Marina in Brielle and got a slip for the night.

Showered up and met up with Vinnie from our Crew.

At 5:30 pm Kevin,Vinnie,& myself met up with Capt Lou at Spikes in Pt Pleasant and enjoyed some broiled Sea food.

At 7:15 pm Kevin,Vinnie & myself went to the Captains meeting at the Pt Pleasant Elks club and registered for the Fluke Tournament.

At 7:45 pm we were on our way back to Hoffman's and watched the big boats unload Yellow Fin & Mahi.

There were guys at there slips netting live Bait so we joined them.

At 11 pm Kevin & Vinnie installed a Window Air conditioner & by midnight the 3 of us were counting sheep  ;D

At 4:10 am Kevin woke up & I had to go pee pee so I got up.

The 3 of us went to the 7 Eleven in Pt Pleasant and we got Coffee. After we left 7 Eleven we went back to Hoffman's & met up with our 4th Crew member Todd.Todd bought us more live bait.We loaded the live bait in the well and checked in for the Pt Pleasant Elks tourney.

At 5:45 am we were in the inlet waiting for the start of the tourney.Once we got the ok off we went.Kevin took us right back to where we fished on Fri and we did not have a drift and very few bites.Kevin bounced around and checked out some other spots and nothing was doing so the 4 of us decided to move.Kevin made a move and we starting catching right away but the Keepers we were catching were not the big Fluke we needed. The 4 of us fished hard but at 2pm it was not meant to be so the 4 of us went back to KMB and we tied up the Fattys & Flattys to the dock.I drove Kevin & Todd back to Hoffman's so they can get there trucks. After that Todd and myself drove back to KMB and helped Vinnie clean up & Kevin went back home.

Even though we did not weigh a fish the 4 of us had Fun.

Kevin,Vinnie,Todd I had a blast !

Got home at 6 pm and showered up &  I hit the bed & that was it !

Pictures to follow.

I forgot to mention Todd & myself both  caught  Cownose Ray's on Sat.

Todd & myself both  thought for sure we had Fluke Father on  TT^

Both Ray's were released unharmed !
