Princess/Chicken Canyon 7/31
« on: August 01, 2010, 07:32:09 AM »
Our options were to stay close to home and pick at short fluke or go off shore for some bluefin action. We decided to head out on Saturday after my son received a report from his friend who did well on Friday. My son's Joe, Dan and there friend Bill broke the Barnegat inlet at 5:00 and headed out. Got to the fishing grounds 7:15 and there was plenty of life. Lines in and 20 minutes later fish on. A 45# BF, Nice. Trolled for 3 hours without another knock down and than bang a 14# dorado. I believe the boat traffic kepted the fish down deep. Overall a great day on the water.

Hey Rod long ride out but well worth it. 50 miles off shore the seas were 1-2. There was a guy out there in a 19' 6" boat, single engine. I know this because other guys were asking him what size boat he has.Now that's crazy. BF all over braking the surface but would not jump on our lures. The BF were to busy chasing sand eels.

I think that was Capt Joey G  ;D.   Nothing wrong with that IMO I'd you have the weather window. And sat was the day.  I was going to take my boat out.  But something came up.
