Raritan Bay Fluking 8/6
« on: August 06, 2010, 07:47:55 PM »
Ben,John, and myself out of Sayreville around 5:30 this morning, hit the Triangle area in the back first picking a few shorts and then worked the channel up the NY side with nothing.moved up to the 18 in the Reach and did nothing here.noticed the fleet gathered up in the vicinity of the 1 can Keyport and moved over there and started picking shorts, staying in long drifts to the 11A area, steady pick of shorts and a few Sea Robins, heard from Eddie(Hunter 2)that he was out and near the 11A,told him only thing for us were shorts and wished him luck.finally John puts a keeper in the box at 20 inches.Heard from Eddie again that he was in the Ambrose.we fished this area with no more keepers.tried by the Keansburg pier, where again some more shorts but get a cocktail blue that goes in the box and a large blue claw crab comes up on one of the rigs and it goes in the box.stayed here til around one and headed in.great day on the water with some action, but it seems to be getting tougher and tougher to put a keeper catch together.    Kez

Still a good day Kez!  We were probably drifting right next to each other at the 11a.
