out of Sayreville this morning around 7 on friend Kens boat,I went along again to help out and fish a little as he was taking his neighbors out again.went about 20 miles off shore to some marks of his he wanted to try first but no success in the deeper water as the current was to fast even with a drift sock, did run into a school of baby Amberjack we played with for a while, gradually worked our way in trying and then headed for the Shrewsbury Rocks where we were able to slow pick away at SeaBass,Fluke and some Jumbo and coctail Blues.we stayed here until around 1:30 and headed back into the bay before the wind kicked up to much, able to pick a few shorts in the bay before heading in around 3.it wasn't the most productive day today under the conditions but we were able to bring home some meat, tally for the day 10 keeper seabass,4 keeper Fluke,5 blues and some amberjacks.plan on going in the morning on my boat but don't have the highest expectations, spoke to a fellow fisherman at the ramp who had spent the day in my usual haunts and only caught 5 fish all day and no keepers, hopefully better tomorrow.I think the water is to warm in the bay, last year at this time we finished the season with a good bite going up the Reach, but we didn't have a hot summer like this year and the water temps a little cooler, just my opinion.
