Pops Soul 8/28
« on: August 28, 2010, 07:40:45 PM »
The wife and I got a late start, but we did get on the water, Headed North out of SRI about 10:30am with white caps on the deeper bottom we opted to start our first drift in dirty water on the west side of the Red Church Rock pile. Even with the dirty water no problem finding life with the wife Dragging squid and spearing and me bucktailing, but finding keepers was a no go....Once the chop layed down we were able to move off having no problem finding more shorts. I thought I had a real nice fish on, reeling it up nice and easy with a steady head thumping  rgmn rgmn the wife at the ready with the net :'(  I can feel the weight of the fish. I get it to the top and it's a DOUBLE HEADER  :P Short Fluke on the Bucktail and a C Bass on the Gulp teaser  fcp Moved on and found nice life on the England Bank off of Asbury Park nice drop and reel fishing but only ended the day with 1 keeper at 19. Turned out to be a beautiful day on the water weather wise t^
