Jupiter charter boat captain critical after falling overboard
« on: September 05, 2010, 11:47:55 PM »
JUPITER, Fla. - Rough seas caused a 61-year-old Jupiter man to fall off of his fishing charter boat Friday afternoon while entering the Jupiter Inlet.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission says that the 51-foot commercial fishing boat, the Water Dog, was entering the inlet when a man fell overboard.

According to witnesses, a man fell from the boat's bridge and hit the side of the boat before he fell into the water.

Photographer Stuart Browning was at the beach photographing surfers when he watched the tragic accident unfold..........

Unfortunately, the captain did not survive. It was reported that he died from the injuries.

Wow thats scary. Wonder if a life jacket would have helped in that situation. Hopefully some safety commission doesn't jump on this and require seat belts while under way.
A good day of fishing is better than a bad day of fishing. A bad day of fishing is better than a good day of work. That means work sucks!
