Fishing Pt. Pleasant Inlet 07/08/07
« on: July 08, 2007, 05:53:45 PM »
Decided to pass up Sandy Hook this morning and head out to Pt. Pleasant by the Inlet there. Stopped at Alex's bait and tackle got some spearing, killies, and squid strips. Hung around there from about 745 AM until about 300 PM. Caught about a dozen short flukes, then on my last cast I hooked up with a ince 4 lb. 23 inch fluke. My biggest fluke I have caught  :D. It was a great day to be out, but bad thing was brought no sun block, and brought no lunch all i had in the bunch of hours of fishing was about 3 water bottles and 2 iced teas. Ran out of money and was to lazy to stop at an ATM. Was dehyrdated the whole hour drive home in traffic. It was a good fishing day though  TT^

Forgot to mention the few sea robins and 4 snapper blues.

Way to go,

The inlet looks good.  Were there many people catching?  Or were you the resident expert there that day?

Nice report, thanks...

Happy Catching

Hey Paul,
There we a bunch of people there and because of the current there were alot of tangles with your neighbors. They were simple tangles and easy to get out though. Alot of short fluke caught, alot of sea robins, and a few snapper bluefish. I saw 1 fluke that was probably about 6 lbs caught a little while before i caught mine. High tide seemed to be the best time yesterday, alot of fish in that time frame. Good luck

Tangles aer common as long as no one gets mad.  I hate it when your on the  beach and a guy comes right next to you about 10 feet away and casts right across your line. :P  Whats up with that???

Fished the Inlet again today with my father after work, only for around 2 hours. I caught 3 shorts and a sea robin, he caught 2 shorts. That was all she wrote, lol

I looked up the rules in the njswf's By laws and it said you can only enter 1 fish for 1 contest if the months of the contest both start with the letter J ;D
