Met Lee (aka The Kup) & Luke at KMB at 6:30 AM.
Loaded my gear on Lee's boat.
Dock Lines off at 6:45 am.
The bay was flat on the way out and once we turned the hook it was even nicer.Lee took me to a spot that has been good in the past.
When we got to the spot Lee dropped anchor and it took abit to get the Porgies going.10 minutes after anchoring I caught the 1st Big Porgy & after that we picked at them.Lee was using a different part of the clam and he started catching Toy togs.Lee turns to me and says Art I am using the bellie & that's what the Tog want.I opened up a fresh Clam and put the bellie on and caught a nice size Sea Bass. After that I knew what the Tog & Sea Bass wanted so we both baited up with Clam Bellies. As soon as your bait hit the bottom the Quality size Sea Bass were in - hailing the bellies.Lee puts a Bellie down and catches a 20" Fluke. The keeper was released ! We continued picking away at Sea Bass,Toy Tog & Porgies.I baited up again with a bellie and landed a keeper Tog.After I landed the keeper tog I turned to Lee and said how bout a a Cold Beer
After Lee finished his Beer Lee put a Clam bellie on.Lee drops down.I turn around & I see his rod doubled over.Lee starts reeling and he knew he had a big Fish on.I got the net ready and I net 1 of the Biggest Sea Bass I ever saw in my life ! Lee's smile was priceless and let me tell you I am quite happy he landed this Slob of a Sea Bass.At 1:30 pm we ran out of Clams and headed back to KMB.When we got back to the dock Lee & myself went into the office to have The Big Sea Bass weighed. The FISH weighed 5.38 lbs on a certified scale.Lee took some pics and was still smiling ! We both went back to the boat and the fun started.Lee cleaned the fish & I cleaned the boat.
The weather was great ,The company was great and seeing Lee land the Big Sea Bass was even better !
Lee thanks for a great trip & Big Congrats my Friend
