Raritan Bay 9/13
« on: September 13, 2010, 04:48:43 PM »
John and myself out of Sayreville this morning with no real plan, had a dozen and a half fresh clams, spoke to Salty dog and Ben who were also out trying.hit the open bay and found birds working and started tossing the metal and picking up cocktail blues and putting some in the box,it was tough staying with them as they were moving fast.spoke with Salty dog again and he was at the candlesticks and not really into anything.moved up to Flynns Knoll and put out the hook and tried clammming, nothing but birds and dogfish plus one small fluke.pulled anchor and drifted clams and again dogfish and birds, made a move back to Keansburg and found some marks and drifted clams and also tossing metal, picked some more blues on the metal and again dogfish and birds on the clam but we did have a nice weakie on a clam but John was horsing it thinking it was a blue and when he got it to the top and realized what it was it popped the hook.really beautiful day out on the water and we did have some action.headed in around two and some blues in the box.    Kez
