nearly skunked on Barnegat Reef today 9/23

made it to the reef at about 9am. drifted every kind of bait we had.....fresh peanuts, squid/killie, fresh bunker chunks, clam, etc.....one small seabass all day, and it was foul hooked. trying again tomorrow.......two weeks of straight fishing almost every day, what the h*** am I doing wrong?

What are you drifting for ?  the only thing I know to do now on the reef is anchor up on a wreak and fish for Tog and sea bass.

Other options now are looking for birds and maybe finding Blues or False Albies..
or hitting the Barnegat ridge and trolling or chumming for Albies

I hooked up with a guy from PA, and has never fished around here before. I just want to put him into some fish. he doesnt like long boat rides, and hates trolling. we went out a few times along the beach looking for bird activity, found some, but couldnt get any hook-ups. thought we'd try the reef, maybe some sea-bass were around. would love to get him some albies, or some blues....just need to be at the right place at the right time, i guess
