10-11 bass report.
« on: October 11, 2010, 06:54:09 PM »
Left the dock at 7am and messed around the clam beds. Nothing going so headed south slowly searching. found a few boats out deep and went in expecting to anchor up and clam. As I am searching around for marks I see a charter gaff a cow. Look over and see another charter with fish on. Then he had a double and it turned into a triple. I drop my clams but can see that they are jigging. I start retying rods for the wife and I and I am watching the FF at the same time. it starts to light up. The bass were thick. In 60 ft of water and they were filling up my screen. Only short little bursts though. Dropping avas and crocks trying to jig them up. I suck. boats all around me catching and I am doing crap. Finally I hook up and the fish takes of for china. I fight him for about 5-10 minutes and get him boatside and lose him.......I pull in the line and the cow straitened out my swivell. A 70lb swivell. How pissed am I ? And that was it. Could not connect again. At this point every party boat in the state is there. It was loud and busy.Tried to find them for a few hours but nada. Was on some birds with very strange marks under them. Light blue/red marks top to bottom. Blues/weakies??? Headed over to the reef to use up my clams and could not even get a keeper sea bass. Did get a 4 foot eel. Scary mother f'er. Next time out I leave the dock at 5am.

Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

Don't know what happened its supposed to say from my leader to my braid and use a bead(green or brown) on the the braid to stop fish finder I even like it for snags because you may loose your hook but the sinker comes back up 80% of the time

Just one of those days, just have to try again.
Fishing Sandy Hook and anywhere I can get on a boat.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife sells all of my fishing tackle for what she thinks I paid for it!
