Headed out for another day of mixed bag fishing... Eric In pursuit, Bruce and Pops, Bruce tm, Randy and Wilson rounded out todays crew.
Started out looking for some jig fish...same as yesterday lots of scattered bait and blues but no bass... we didnt waste much time with it and decided to go take advantage of the great bottom fishing.
Got top the grounds and reads clouds of porgies... got setup and it was game on with porgies... Lock n load double headers flying all over... even a couple of triples... Some real nice size too!!! Doesnt get much better.
Bite slowed up and we actually made a move and the porgies were even bigger. True jumbos... also had a few nice blacks on the porgy rigs
Put a couple hundred porgies in the box before lunch time and we decided to go play with Blackfish for the rest of the day.
Got setup Blackfishing and we had a pick at some nice fish...Built some life after a little while we had some real big come come out to play!!!
Wilson had the first nice one at 7lbs!!! Then Bruce Broke the 10lb with a real beauty.
But it wasnt over Eric InPursuit Was next next with his rod double over the rail and up to the net came a nice slob at just over 12lbs on the scale!!!Another personal best for Eric On the Monger!!! Congrats!!!
Prob had around 50 Blackfish with 30 would be keeper size... Everyone kept there 1 and released the rest!!!
So By days end the Guys boxed up 200+ Big Porgies and a limit of blackfish including a 10 and 12 lber!!! along with a few blues... Released plenty of seabass and fluke as well!!!
Doesnt get much better...Great Day on the water!!!Lots of fun n fillets for all
