10/30 Bass Played Tricks....But We Got No Treats
« on: October 30, 2010, 08:35:34 PM »
Had an open boat trip today with John, our very own Art B. Jimmy and Chloe. Were supposed to depart at 0630 but Jim and Chloe were running late and we shoved off at 0650.

Once we rounded the hook I got a call of action on the north side of Romer, had birds working in some rough seas.

Everybody went to town jigging but no takers, searched around the area, found reads dropped down but no takers.

Jumped around between the channels on reads and bird life to no avail.

Threw out the wire and picked up a giant skate, Art thought he was pulling in a rug and one short bass.

Changed areas and found life north of Ambrose, again the jiggs came out, Jim was rewarded with a 12 lb Blue, other than that nothing.

Buy now a steady 20-25 west wind was hanking agaist the incoming. undable to anchor and clam broke though some nasty seas around the knoll and headed to the back.

Found nothing in the back to jig on, threw out the lines and pulled some stretch 25's....trolled through some good reads with nothing to show.

The guys and Gal jigged their arms off today, we threw out about everything except the porta potti at the fish.....just was not going to happen.

Did get a call after we were back at the dock that once the tide changed they were picking nice Bass on Romer..day late and dollar short fcp

Made calls during the trip and got no real good news, few guys picked some up on the troll and a couple got an early bite that we missed.

Was a pleasure have the crew on board today, and glad i finally got to meet Artie.....hopefully I can redeem myself one day ::)

Capt Bob it was a pleasure finally meeting you !

Even though the catching was slow I still had fun.

Thanks again for all your effort  t^

On aside note it was also nice meeting Capt Carl when we got back to the slip.

Nice report Capt.Bob,   You guys sure tried everything. The slack tide hours have been tough.

Great effort CaptBob and crew. It's been a tuff couple of weeks for the bass. Nothing consistant.  :P
