Left the dock 6:30 am with the O'Connell charter which included, Rob, Bob, Mike, 'red' Mike, and 9 yr old Matt. I was a little concerned about Matt, who had never fished before (let alone been on a boat). Knew it was going to be a little 'sporty' out there, but he was fired up so I hoped for the best. Rounded the hook and dropped the rigs just outside the 6 can and trolled in between. Rod went off and Matt sprung into action. He was thrilled when we got the bass into the boat. Asked lots of questions and even put his fingers in the bass' mouth (had to promise him the bass wouldn't bite). Guys managed to put 6 bass in the boat, released 9 shorts, kept of couple and released a couple of blues, a skate and a fluke. Very exciting for a boy's first fishing trip. Nice going Matt!
