Found 3 guys nutty enough to overnight in an open boat in November and headed out to the Hudson with a crew of Freddy, Wayne and Kevin for the last canyon trip of the year. We broke the inlet and 10pm and arrived at 230am. Did a lot of looking before we set up for the chunk and drifted by some working squid boats. Marked tons of squid and was able to dip net a few that showed up around the boat. Water was clean and a chilly 58 degrees. The chunk was uneventful except for a blue shark that took the sword line. Decided to give the tile fishing a shot and we managed to put 10 nice fish in the boat. Figured we would head in to the AP area and try for a bft. Started seeing breaking fish from the Chicken in and stopped numerous times on breaking pods with no luck. Stopped at AP area and jigged a number of endangered dogfish and blues. While the tuna fishing left much to be desired the conditions were awesome and we made a safe return. God Bless America and God Bless Our Troops.
