saturday fishing Barnegat Inlet
« on: November 06, 2010, 04:39:38 PM »
outside was pretty rough, so we stayed inside. tried the sod banks, not a bite. drifted live spot in the inlet.....3 keepers to 32", many shorts. was fun avoiding the large rollers coming through the inlet, some guys got rolled so far I swore they were going swimming! Was like a parking lot in the inlet, alot of jockeying. Tons of birds diving the shallows behind the lighthouse....casted small diamond jigs and filled half a cooler with Herring. saving those for the surf. was a good day......froze our asses off though. slt

Good job on the keeper stripers.  t^

I took a ride to Point Pleasant today. Saw a dimwit exit the inlet in about a ten foot boston whaler type boat. The ocean wasn't too bad but the inlet was a little on the wild side. What a maroon.  nts

it was a madhouse in the inlet.......seemed like everyone started their drift at the same time. seen a couple of idiots in 13' whalers rolling around in the inlet. wouldnt see me doing that. every pass saw a net out and a fish in it

had a great partner with a great boat (Parker). alot of guys don't like jockeying back and forth every 10-15 minutes, but we did what was necessary to catch fish. got a great project out of it too....my friend bought a 1988 Steiger Craft 21' pilot house for $2000.00. needs a motor and some fiberglass work. when completed I have a boat to use at my discretion. can't wait to get started.  t^
