IBSP 11-2-10 Evening trip
« on: November 02, 2010, 09:37:30 PM »
Hit the Gilliken's entrance just as the sun was setting, giving me just a few minutes of light to find a decent hole to set my gear.  I was surprised to see as many trucks out there as I did tonight.  Everyone's itching for the bass, and I don't blame them.  TT^  Finally got nestled in behind the bathing areas.  Barely a breeze, water was calm, holding just fine with a 5'er on my hi-lo.  First 3 casts resulted in the beaching of MAMMOTH sized skates.  rgmn  Next cast, STRIPER!  Hit the ruler just a shade under 28".  If I would have squeezed the tail, I could have had dinner.  Back to the drink she went.  A few dogfish rounded out the night, before the shivering wife sent us on our way to air up and hit the bricks.  A cold night, but a little action kept my mind well away from the weather.

The skates are a real PITA.
Glad to see you got some bass.

Fishing Sandy Hook and anywhere I can get on a boat.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife sells all of my fishing tackle for what she thinks I paid for it!

Fishing, with me, has always been an excuse to drink in the daytime.
