Headed out Fri nite with some buds on the Doris Mae from Barney. We had a perfect weather window to fish (too perfect!) and had lines in as the sun came up.
One stop shopping as we made adjustments and wiggles on the first and only stop of the trip. Lack of wind and current made it tough to stay in place.
Great pick all day. Had to fight off an insane bluefish bite for the first 3 hours. Demons in the 3-4lb class crushing clam baits in 250 feet of water? Go figure.
Blues thinned out and a steady pick of c-bass, monster porgies and a few ling came up.
We stuffed the coolers by 2PM and started the 4 hour ride home.
My bud Andy taking the pool with a 7.5 lb 25" biscuit weighed on the boat scale.
Get out while the gettin is good, looks like big brother will shut down this fishery on Jan 1st.
