Bryan,Matt & John picked me up Fri night at 9pm at my house.
We were on the road by 9:15 pm.
Bryan got us to Montauk Marine at 12:15 am.
Dave & Wayne were already there so we met up with them.
The temps were alot warmer this time & it was snowing.
At 1 am Capt Scott Schafer arrived and we stayed out of his way so he could get things ready.At 1:30 am we loaded our gear on the Sea Spray.Once again the 5 of us set up our rods in the stern.John fished the port side because he wanted us to have extra room.
Dock lines off at 2 am & Capt Scott took us for a 2 hr ride to the grounds.
Mate Doug dropped the anchor & it was snowing steady.
As soon as the anchor was tight we all dropped down.A few Cod were caught but not what the Capt Wanted.Mate Doug says lines up.
Capt Scott says Art I sure hope your crew has lots of time because we will stay out until we catch them.
Capt Scott took us to another area about an hr from the first spot.
Mate Doug dropped the anchor & within 10 minutes Cod were flying over the rail !
Dave,Bryan,Wayne,John were all catching but I was tangling everyones line's
! Bryan & Matt busted my balls !
Get this Matt never Cod fished before so as soon as he caught his 1st keeper he was hooked.Now Bryan starts busting my balls & says Art come on what's going on ? I turned to Bryan and said not to worry. From that quote on I started catching them
Everytime Matt dropped down he was hooked up.
Matt had Bryan crazy because he stopped catching
The 6 of us bailed cod for hrs until our arms were sore.
The 6 of us caught well over 200 Cod and we ended up with a 100 keepers only taking 10 each which is the NY limit.
We all had a blast & a half & we all are going back in 3 weeks.
Dave,Wayne,Bryan,Matt,John I had a great time & I can't wait for the next trip.
