question
« on: February 25, 2011, 02:06:25 PM »
i was fishing at the park wed. morning from 3:30 a.m. till 9:30 a.m. no fish....then walked around for a few hours ... i am new to the beach during the winter .. but found it odd that there were thousands of what appeared to be juvenile hard shell crabs dead all over the shore , and black shelled mussels also ...anyone know if this happens all the time , or is something weird  going on in the atlantic....i never thought i would see crabs dead or alive in this weather( i didn't see any live ones) ....but what do i know !!! any of you regulars have an answer...

Do you know what kind of crabs they were green? blue claw? and for the mussels could have had really rough seas and they get ripped from the rocks and washed up..

It's the "norm" to see them down by the inlet in large number, but no so usual for the rest of the beach.
