Headed back out for another day on the blackfish ground. Brian, Pops, Chris Crabcake, Chuck, Pat and Ralphy rounded out today crew.
First spot started out with immediate good life with bites soon as you hit the bottom, lots of shorties but keepers were mixed in... Thought we were in but after a while it just completely died.Shifted all around it for a couple more and then Chris's new rod bent over and up to the net came our first fish over 10lbs this spring... nice big male!
Moved to another spot and got a couple of keepers and some shorts and a couple cod... ya get a bite for a little then it would stop. Pretty much the same story for the rest of the day at each drop... get a shot then pick acouple but the bite was still slow n picky.Bonus was one wreck had a little shot of about 12 cod with 6 more being keepers.
First drop was our best action then a pick for the rest of the day. Def have to work for em but nice to be able to put a decent catch together!!!
Tough conditions today as well wind went from sw all the way around to east along with some current and south east swell .
The Guys fished hard and put together a nice cooler!!! By days end we caught around 28 Keeper Blackfish to 10lbs (6 man limit+) with everyone taking home a legal limit also 7 Keeper Codfish. Good amount of short tog and cod for some action as well.
Fun day with a great crew!!!
Thanks again guys!!!
Will be back at it everyday the weather lets us Blackfish till the end of the month!!!
