Headed back out for another day on the grounds... Big Don, Tom, Ralphy, Bruce and Frank rounded out the crew.
Plan was to head off and do some ling and then try and jig a bass after... Looked up the beach but didnt see much life or marks to jig on so rather than troll or clam the guys opted to keep on going to the bottom grounds.
Soon as we setup the ling started flying again today. Nice steady bite of fat ling... when it slowed all ya did was a wiggle to get a fresh shot of them... seen few more double headers today. Slugged away at em until the 5 man crew had there full... the guys put 120 ling in the box by lunch time.
Everyone we talked to said the jigging was slow but we took a look anyway hoping maybe something would pop up... Not much going on... seen a few fished trolled here n there.
Trolled a bit no takers then Stopped on a small patch of picking birds and Ralphy landed a Nice 22lb Bass... lost one other but that was it.
Made the most of what the ocean had to offer and had a real nice day. The guys were happy with big bags of tasty fillets!!!
By days end we wound up with 120 Ling and 1 Keeper Striper. Released a bunch of blackfish and the usually assortment of eels.
