Leaving the dock at 6:30am with Howard Wiley and his crew, we ran to the same area we left the fish biting Friday. Unfavorable conditions and a lack of tide quickly made us call an audible. We made a 20 minute move and setup on the troll, due to the upcoming slack water. We began to zone in on a school and in short work, and a great effort by the guys, finished with our limit catch. Great weather and decent fishing made for another fun-filled New Jersey Striped Bass trip.
What a shock to us! After a decent morning with a limit catch, we hosted Jason Gaynor and friends for an afternoon trip. We found winds double the prediction, and weak tides. Seeing the clam fishing was not going to materialize, we made the move back to troll them again. With west winds 15-20 we covered a lot of ground and only found one bite, which unfortunately came unhooked. The guys hung in and had a good time. Finishing up on the clam grounds once the wind died, we were still unable to coax a bite. Thanks for the laughs guys as it’s always a good time on the water!
