What is the best rigs for fishing live bait from the surf? I will tie my own just need some info on how to tie them. I was thinking of a egg sinker than a barrel swivel with a circle hook. What are your thoughts guys? Want to fish baby spot and killie from the surf in Cape May. Thanks for the help!!!

Hi njdevil,

Fishfinder rig. Similar to what you are saying except you have the freedom to change the amount of weight or type of sinker in an instant. A fishfinder rig has other advantages as well.

I agree with snelling a circle hook to a 30" or so leader, again it can vary depending on conditions.

Good luck,

Capt. Ed
