It was quite a day...
« on: May 12, 2011, 10:52:15 PM »
The day started like any other day going fishing with my uncle.  The usual transfer of his gear to the Expedition heading out to pick up bait.  Airing down before hitting the beach.  But this time a friend that moved to Fla happened to be up for a while Big Ed of Big Ed lures saw us parked and airing down, stop[ped and mentioned that they wre getting blues down at the inlet.  Well you did not have to tell us twice.

We made our way down and setup and soon we were into some nice Taylor Blues in the 2 to 4 pound range.  It was great to see him hauling blues over the jetty.  Way to go Uncle Joe...

When we decided to call it quits and try up the beach a bit for bass we had almost a full cooler full.  We kept them because there were a number in our family that like to eat them and well as friends on my uncle.

We set up around A17 and at one poing my uncle's rod took a sharp dip and by the time we got to the pole to set the hook it was gone.  Next time, will be the charm.

All in all it was a great day.  I finally got my uncle into fish off the surf and he was one happy camper.

So if you are heading down to IBSP I would first check out the inlet as I have mentioned before right after Mothers Day the blues will return and they have.

Happy Catching

Paul

Fishing, with me, has always been an excuse to drink in the daytime.

The bungee strap is more of a deterrent when I park in front of a B&T.  I guess my thinking is they would go to an easier target and leave mine alone.  I know it is not much but hey so far it has worked.

yeah i never liked that feeling either walking in a b&t and looking back at my stuff just out there for the pickins. i have even considered using a bicycle lock system to secure my more expensive gear.

Food for thought

Looks interesting, but i guess if they really wanted to steal the stuff there is no stopping it.

Plus I never had any luck with combination locks they always rust out in the salt air and I wind up having to cut them off this close to the salt water.
