My son-in law treated me, his dad, and his dad’s friend to a charter today out of Howard Beach, NY for an early Father's day present.
My pick up time was 2:30 AM
Got the boat at 4 AM and after some confusion as to which of the three available boats we would be on we shoved off at 4:30 with some fresh bunker on ice and were awaiting our delivery from the other “sister boat” that went for the live ones.
About 30 min. later we got our live ones in the well and we were off.
Because of the wind we fished the whole morning in Jamaica Bay right next to JFK Int’l Air Port.
Still can’t believe that those planes can get off the ground so fast.
Very windy, fast drifts, but I finally got my first Stripers of this season and “Christen ” the new Canyon reel. Got my 2 on board on live by 7:30 slow fishing……
Called it quits by 11:30 with 5 fish in the lower teen class and about 34” for our crew.
Wind never quit all morning and didn’t help our cause. Thanks Joey had a great day getting out.
Pics not on my camera.
