Plan was to overnight shark fish and then go cod and seabass. Did not like the 15 to 25 mph NW on Friday offshore so around 5:15 pm we went bass fishing. Boated 3 stripers to 36 lbs off Bradley Beach. Took a ride south but that bite was ending.
Came back to dock, cleaned up, got a pizza and put the cod rods on and Charlie, Darren and me left SRI at 2:00 am to head offshore. Ride out took 4 hours due to the confused seas and left over Friday winds. Took two times to set the anchor but once positioned we had drop and reel seabass fishing to 5 lbs. Lots of double-headers. Most were 3 to 4 lbs. Nice size seabass. Also boated 4 cod on that wreck.
Moved to the second wreck and boated 6 more cod with a few throwbacks - then the tide and wind shifted and we lost the anchoring. Dusted off and had a decent ride back in.
All total we boated 75 quality seabass to 5 lbs. 10 nice cod to 11 lbs and one large ling.
Plenty of fish frys this week!!
