Fishguts 6/9 seabass
« on: June 09, 2011, 08:38:31 PM »
Today it was Blackfish Doug, Dogshark Bill, and Dennis out for an all day wreck trip. With the spotty bottom fishing of late we were not expecting to much. Since the seabass season has opened much of the inshore grounds have been hit or miss and day to day. A small change in current either puts the fish on the feed or shuts them right down. Todays conditions were close to perfect to work some new areas over. The first drop had tons of life but mainly shorts. The guys worked at it boxing a few keepers while weeding through big numbers of weenies. And that how it went the rest of the trip. Steady pulling with a keeper here and there. At days end the 3 angler had 40 keeper seabass to 2.75 lbs and some big smiles. It should only get better once the bottom temps settle a little,

A lot of action and plenty enough for some fine meals. Good going.  t^
