Sunday 06/12 fluke
« on: June 12, 2011, 09:43:16 PM »
Took a ride out for the incoming tide this afternoon in the bay.  Was total madness of boats in the raritan reach, but I found my nook to tuck in and take the drift.  Not long before I boxed my first keeper, a nice 19" first keeper for the year.  Lots of smalls in between then I hit a nice 23" to go in the box as well.  A few more smalls and a bluefish before I finally nailed a 21" to complete my day.  Good meat in the box on a cool, kind of windy day.  Fished bucktails with spearing/squid and a gulp teaser on both lines.  All keepers took the bait, all smalls took the gulp ironically.  30' depth was the ticket.
The cure for everything is salt water: sweat, tears, and the sea.

 clp Nice job Mike
Fishing Sandy Hook and anywhere I can get on a boat.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife sells all of my fishing tackle for what she thinks I paid for it!

Fishing, with me, has always been an excuse to drink in the daytime.

Beautiful quality fish you have there. That's what I strive for on every Fluke charter I run. After awhile, you get tired of throwbacks, so I fish areas that produce quality fish like those pictured.

The bay has a lot of really nice fish right now, so going outside is not really necessary a least until the really warm water settles in and then it's time for Ambrose.

Good catch....... TT^
