Today it was one of my favorite trips to run....a father taking his kids out for a day of fishing. Tim Sr,Tim Jr and Becky got a little late start with some direction mix ups but once on the water it was smooth sailing. Tim Jr stated that in his last 3 fishing trips he did not land a single fish and also it would be Becky's first trip on a boat. The plan was action with blues and fluke in the bay. Becky knocked off the first fish(short fluke ) in the first couple of minutes and Tim Jr was the first to reach double digit releases. Tim Sr well lets just say he set the hook a lot but had some issues keeping them on. It was great to hear the kids giving dad pointers as they hooked and reeled in fish. To top it off the kids both hang fish while dad brings up a starfish. Final tally was Becky( 10 fluke),Tim Jr (23fluke)Tim SR (4 fluke and one star fish). The only downside today was being unable to locate any blues for the kids and the ice cream freezer being broke for our "mid trip ice cream break". These trips leave amazing memories for all of us. No keepers today but on this kind of trip it really does not matter.
