Learning the Bimini Twist

I have been practicing tying the Bimini Twist.  I've always used a Spider Hitch when I needed an end loop, but since I'm hoping to do more offshore trips this year I figure I better learn to tie the stronger Bimini.

I found a couple of good videos that walked me through it.  So far my knots look pretty good.  The only thing I've noticed is that after I'm done the loop itself comes out kind of twisted.  Is this normal?  If not, what can I do to prevent this from happening?

im not a pro at this knot by any means but i dont see any clear way of keeping it from twisting i mean appears to me that will happen naturally as your tieing the knot...but whos knows i could be wrong

I've always used the Spider Hitch to form a double line. Hasn't failed me yet in either inshore or offshore fishing so I see no reason to frustrate myself in learning the Bimini Twist.

I haven't found the Bimini all that difficult to tie.  I was just wondering about the loop being twisted like that and if it affected the strength of the connection at all.

after doing a little research and trying the knot myself...it is achievable to make it "untwisted" but you have to have a firm anchor point that your tieing the knot off of....but it really depends on what your using mono florou or braid obviously...Mine came out twisted as well but i did see a video where it was untwisted BUT wasnt fishing line...
