Irish Ayes fishing 7-7-11
« on: July 07, 2011, 08:51:11 PM »
Had Peter, Ron and Doug on board today. Went north to hit the fluking grounds. No wind, no drift, fluke fishing sucked. Moved further north to check out a new spot. Fluke fishing still sucked but we did find a nice, new pile of rocks that we saw a barge dump last year (I marked the spot on my GPS during the dumping last year ;D). Should be a productive spot in due time.

Spotted some bunker and figured we'd give it a go. Did some snag and drop. Had two run offs, didn't hook up. Made a move and found more bunker. Had some blue fish attacking them and we pulled a few for Ron and Pete's dinner.

Moved to another pod and it was game on. No bass, but sharks. Hooked up with four. Peter had two that were better than five feet long. I had two that were about three feet long (fork length). I believe they were brown shark, all were released unharmed.

Stopped on a spot on the way back to the barn and picked up a keeper fluke and several shorts. Ran in before the storms arrived.

Will be out again tomorrow, weather permitting.  t^
