7/23 Reilly Charter Fluking
« on: July 23, 2011, 09:19:32 PM »
Today we had the Reilly charter on board for some Fluking. Great conditions but extremely hot and humid. Made it out to the grounds and the girls started pulling in Fluke. Ladies truly shinned today, getting right into it boating the flatties. Unfortunately trip had to be cut short. But a good day on the water with a fine group.

Trip was cut short when I could not turn over the engine. Kudos to Highlands Sea Tow for Quick responce.  As we were being towed in I was able to fire up the engine, ans Sea Tow cut us loose.

Made it to dock and dropped off the crew to finish the trip another day. Made a Call to Steve at S&S Marine and motored over. Steve jumped aboard and after listening to what had occurred began the diagnosis. A short time later we found the culprit, one one the battery cables from the battery to the engine had developed a small crack allowing water inside the cable and corrosion. This caused a power drop from 724 Volt at the battery to 82 volt at the engine. Cables replaced and back on the water in less than 90 minutes of pulling into the dock.
