I real fun trip today with some great guys. Today I had Larry and Dave from Michigan out for a combo bay/ocean trip. The plan was for action and fun with some tasty fillets mixed in. We started the morning making a stop for blues in the bay. Fish were there but the size was not so we headed right to the oceans wrecks. The guys were 1st time bottom fisherman and did a great job. Steady action and the anglers could not believe that fish could take bait of their hooks that quick. Once they found a rhythm the keepers started coming. A nice mix of just legal fish and quality to 3 lbs had everybody smiling. Big fish was a 22" codfish landed by Larry. Once the guys had 25 keeper seabass on ice and before the south wind came on we set our sites for some light tackle bay fluking. A suprsingly good pick of keepers with some shorts kept the trout rods bending. In an hours time they had 4 keepers to 20" and released about 15 shorts. The guys were very happy with their catch and we called it a short day at 12:30 to head in and start filleting. A real fun day today with some real nice peeps.
