Started out Friday with Sam & Amil. They wanted Killies, but the bait shop was dry, I did not care, I don't fish them anyway, they were skeptical.
Well, it was one of those days where everything went right. Started off our first drift on the Axel in 70ft, drifted for 4 hours banging fish the whole time, lost count after 60. Fish to 8 lbs, Amil had the biggest of his life. Second drift, wind changed, picked a few more, then some ling. We were done. Good day.
Saturday, plan was deep water reef bottom fishing. Started at the bait shop, guess what? No fresh clams, 0 for 2 this weekend. Okay, going with what we have on board already.
Got out to our spot, I put a quick keeper Tog in the box, next up come a Cod, this is when I find out that I'm the only one on the boat that can unhook a fish, free a snag, tie a knot, etc, WTF?
Spent the day pissed, uh, I mean mating on board my own boat, helping everyone have a good day.
A nice catch of Cod, SeaBass, and 4 Tog were in the box when I called it for the day. Lesson learned. I was too busy to take any photos on Saturday, sorry. What a difference a day makes.
