Upper New York Bay 9-18-11
« on: September 18, 2011, 06:05:17 PM »
Hit the bay up around 2:30 with my ultra light rod and a 1/8oz spoon. I also brought along my heavier rod and the plan was to catch a snapper and live line him in hopes of working my way up the food chain. A little chilly and windy out there today. Spent the first 45 minutes without a bite and lost one around 3:15. Finally caught one around 3:30 and sent him out. At about 4:30 I had a hit but it bite the snapper behind the hook. I kept the rest of the snapper in the water til about 5 when I called it a day.

Nice try!  Another inch or so and that fish would have tasted hook.  Next time.   t^
