Not so new Product for Rig Tiers!!!
« on: February 27, 2008, 11:19:06 PM »
Hi All,

I just tried out a product that I guess has been around for a while but this is the first time I have heard of it and tried it.  It is called KNOT-PERFECT.

It is a slippery, slimmey jel that makes your knot slide into place just as picture perfect as any text book picture out there.

The instructions say to use a drop but I was told that that was over kill and all you need to do is to put three drops into something that is shallow enough to dip your finger into and coat the knot just before snugging it up tight.  The knot will pop into place and you can cut the tag end up close as a long tag will allow you to grab onto seaweed and junk like that.  This way there is nothing sticking out.

I bought it at Grumpys and he said he has had it for a number of years at the store.  The bottles are very small so don't look for anything big.  Your best bet is to ask for it.  KNOT-PERFECT by George Gehrke.

Sorry I can't trell you how much it cost Tom lumped everything all in one on the receipt.

Happy Catching

Paul

Not in my wife's family, good European stock (Estonian descent), can't gross them out too much.  Heck, when we were first married we lived on a lagoon and caught eels off the dock.  Her father loved to pickle them so I would catch them knock them out and she would skin them and pickle them.  I have to say they were not bad.

Hey Paul

To me this stuff sounds messy, does it wipe off your fingers easy or do you have to wash your hands to get off. The same if you were to drip some on your work surface does it wipe up or do you need soap and water. It must have a oily base. AS far as your wife not being grossed out, YOU ROCK Mrs. PED t^

Hi Skip,

I found that if I am going to be making rigs I usually wait till I need a few and do it in an assembly line process saving the snugging of the knots till last so it was not to much of a problem.  The product is slippery yes but not to the point of being overly slippery to the touch.

I used a paper towel and the cap is metered to dispense a drop at a time so it does not go all over the place.  If you don't like handling the liquid just put a drop on the knot snug it up and wipe dry with a tissue.  I tried that also.  Works well.

Like I said it is slippery but cleans up pretty easily.

I do not know the make up pf the product but there is no oder either and I think oil base probably but my guess is more of a glycerin type product.

last night I just wiped my hands with a tissue and it did not seem slippery at all after that.

This seems to be easier, all you do is add a drop and pull tight no clean up especially if you tip the bottle and you still can cut the tag lune right away.  I see myself using it out on the beach as well.  Only because it makes the knot so tight a tight clip will put you back in business instantaneously.

All I know is I like this stuff.

Thanks Grumpy TT^

Just an FYI Grumpy's sale is still on he now has Berkely baits including  huge selection of Gulp.  Buy 3 get one free.

Plus Betty & Nicks sale is still going on as well till March 31.

Both stores are doing great now is the time to support your local B&T no matter who it is.  I mention these two only because they are close to me.  If you know any others that are offering great deals by all means please share.

That is what this site is all about.

Happy Catching

Hi Cat,

Defiantly, worth the trip.  The store is not your typical seashore garden variety B&T.  They are doing it right and taking their time and listening to the customer.  Right now they have just received 2 or 3 stands full of Berkley power baits and Gulp.  With this only being half the order.

Let me know when you come down and I can meet up with you over there.
it is only about 10 min away.
