Gulp ???

What Gulp should be used this time of year for fluke ? I heard the shrimp wont work so good right now. I have good luck with the red/green swimming mullet Gulp bait with a strip of Squid. Is that what you would recommend ? Would you recommend using this on a Party Boat or should I use what everyone else is using ? I am probably going to go out on the Miss Beach Haven 2 or 3 times next week as I will be out in LBI from the 4th to the 11th.

Stay with the swimming mullet, I put out shrimp, mullet, squid, and jerk shad gulp and the mullet works the best for me...

The shrimp should work good for the weakies..

The precut saltwater strips work pretty good in place of squid if they are married with a killie, spearing, or sand eel.

From personal experience, you can't go wrong with GULP Shrimp (either 2 or 3"), the 4" Swimming minnow/mullet or the 3-5" squid.

I've heard that the new GULP sand eels are also good but I haven't tried them yet.

They are al good. Try to match what the fish are eating.

I know there usualy are a god amount of mantis shrimp in the back bay and I had a bluefish spit up what appeared to be a regualr old shrimp, so I would use shrimp in the back bay (and I did pretty well with them early in season when there was a lot of fluke in keyport area).

They did not work so well for me further out in the bay, bu SH, so I ahve been using the swimming minnows lately and they ahve worked well for me.

haven't even tried my pack of pogies yet.

The sandowrms are DEADLY on weakfish.

Ther is absolutely no need to buy real sandworms anymore (hard to get and expensive every season).

1 Gulp sandowr paired with a Berkley Powerbait sandworm and you are rockin the weakfish!

This is exactly what is wrong with Gulp!

By far, the best bait for Summer Flounder/Fluke is ... come on - you all know (Spoiler below)

Summer Flounder/Fluke itself ... there is no doubt that if you use fluke bellies or get a prized small fluke in a package of spearing you will nail a nice one.

So, Berkely seems to know how to make the strip. Why don't they just make Fluke flavor?

Why do they screw around with the baits and shapes. They are missing the whole point. Fluke will catch fluke.

Until they finally get a clue, they do not get my business. Do they have plans for a fluke strip? If not, why not?

Most of there sales are in the NE to many of the folks like yourselves on this site. Send them a letter and tell them that they need to talk to more fisherman instead of trying to mimic baitfish.

Please feel free to convince me I am off base with Gulp! for fluke.

I can feel your blood pressure rising.  Maybe if we send them a e-mail and head them to our site and offer them an open discussion forum things will come around?

I don't know I have been messing with them this summer but I still have better luck with the real thing. 

I have to say, (haven't tried them yet), those clams look pretty darn close to the real thing.
