Rock Hopping 10-1-11
« on: October 01, 2011, 12:09:55 PM »
In search of bass, we hit up a local rockpile early this morning.  A buddy and I arrived at the tip around 5am to a dead low tide.  Managed a few blues on metals and the biggest hickory shad I've ever caught, tasted a Gulp-ed out teaser.  Switched over to a few different Bomber type lures and started banging the blues like it was our job.  All fish were 3-5# class, but was some of the most consistent action I've had this season on the yellow-eyes.  No bass today.   Wound up leaving once 2 toolbags set-up shop on the channel marker foundation with 2 bait rods each and started zinging AVA's past my head.  Nice to see them NOT catching while we were.   ....And they wondered why denied their offer to take our bounties.  Catch and release all morning.  ;D

Blues are getting bigger and bigger with every trip out.  Gorillas soon!
