Left the marina around 12:45 pm and ran out around the hook to 1-3' fast seas!?
Was not fun but headed out to find life, so headed south to the clam beds. Anchored up and scored 1 keeper bass and a bunch of garbage fish. Stuck with it for a bit while chumming heavily but nothing happened. By now the oceon flattened out nicely and we went between the channels. Ran over some serious marks and started dropping what ever was on hand. I dropped an 007 ava on a light duty set up and before it hit the bottom I was bit. Robin. Dropped again and another robin. 4 guys on the boat all with different rigs and it was non stop robin fishing for an hour while on the drift. Not sure why we stayed there but we were havin fun. They were big and aggresive fish. Any way made a move to the candle sticks and fished another hour with non stop bass action. SEABASS. Mostly keepers , must have C&R'd 50 bass. And some porgy's mixed in also. Almost sunset so headed over to romers and dropped anchor in deeper water. No takers after an hour so moved 300 yrds to 12' and had good steady fishing all night. Only 2 of us caught bass ,we ended up with 4 keepers each. Biggest was my 35". average was 32". Lost a few and had a bunch of bluefish also. We left the dock with 2 bushells (by accident) but thank god we did cause we ran out. Last clam did get picked up by the 35"er. 2 fish had sea lice. All were healthy looking and fat but bellies were empty. No birds seen all afternoon and no bait either. Not to many garbage fish at romers which was a suprise. The 2 guys who did not catch any bass think it's because they were eating Doritos and we were not....LOL
my big one,LOL
